Silent Morning At Lost Lake

Silent Morning At Lost Lake

Lost Lake near Whistler lies calm in the morning light, its surface reflecting clouds and treetops like a sheet of glass. A dense forest of firs and spruces stretches along the shoreline, enclosing the lake completely. In the distance, the dark-blue silhouettes of the Coast Mountains rise, partly veiled by drifting mist. On the water, soft reflections of the clouds appear, blurred into smooth shapes by the long exposure. Small wooden platforms stand in the center of the lake, breaking up the expanse of water as quiet focal points. The composition guides the gaze from the foreground across the mirrored surface toward the forested mountains on the horizon.
